The university of Benin has ended the application period for 2009/2010 post ume.
In the same development, the University extended the exam date to 9th of July 2009.
It is no news that a host of universities postponed their post ume screening till further notice. But the position of UNIBEN in this regard is not clear yet.
Many have been asking whether the ASUU strike will affect the exam. Well from the foregoing that may not likely be so.
Going by tradition, the examination may likely hold. UNIBEN has always used non-academic staff and security men to supervise the exam in previous year. Going by that, we can say that the ASUU strike will not affect the exam. Also, in previous exams, they do not allow students to enter the school premises from morning till the exam is finished. Now that the school is relatively empty, it will be an ideal time to write the exam.
However, there are other issue to put into consideration.
We have the issue of accommodation. Who will accommodate the thousands of students coming to write the exam since most of those they know have travelled?
Also, there are some who Jamb did not send their details to UNIBEN and so they can not apply for the exam. Will the university give this one special venue to write their exam?
What about committing the exam totyally in the hand of Non academic staff and security men without lecturers coordinating it?
Well we dont know yet but I think these matters are what consideration.
Anyway wewish all Uniben Postumites are succeccful Screening Examination.
